Our Journey

From small beginnings to a growing movement of care, protection, and restoration.

2001

BLC was founded and registered in Goa as a non-profit; started with one care home (Daniel’s Enclave).

2002

Early HIV support work begins near red-light areas.

2006

Launch of second and third care homes — Rebekah’s and Joshua’s Enclave — providing shelter and education for children.

2009

Activity-based learning centre established for children with learning gaps (formerly called Rising Star).

2014

BLC certified as a Model Home by the Government of Goa for foreign refugees.

2022

Project Pearl is initiated, expanding anti-trafficking awareness and training.

2024

Kushal Mothi launched and House of Pearls aftercare services strengthened.

Beena grew up with a longing to do something for people who were poor, neglected, unwell and helpless. She wanted to make a difference in their lives especially after having seen the struggles of women who came to her parents’ home seeking help and shelter.
